About

Aspen Oil Recycling is a locally owned and operated used cooking oil collection company serving Colorado's Front Range from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Pueblo, Colorado along the I-25 corridor. The company provides free, scheduled restaurant grease disposal through convenient cooking oil pickup for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, universities, grocery stores, food processors, and campuses. Restaurants can choose between outdoor waste oil recycling bins or indoor automated cooking oil management systems that keep employees away from hot oil handling entirely. Collected oil is recycled into biodiesel, which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 85 percent compared to standard diesel. Aspen Oil has served thousands of Colorado businesses and institutions for nearly 20 years and responds to emergencies around the clock. Customers can call to start service the same day.

Regulatory Context

FOG Compliance in Colorado

Colorado food service operators must meet FOG pretreatment requirements under the Colorado Water Quality Control Division and local pretreatment programs. Denver Water, Colorado Springs Utilities, and Aurora Water maintain active FOG programs with interceptor sizing standards, pumping frequency requirements (commonly every 90 days), and inspection provisions. Service manifests must be retained for three years. Facilities causing sewer blockages attributable to FOG may be billed for cleanup costs.
