Regulatory Context

FOG Compliance in Georgia

Georgia food service operators must comply with FOG pretreatment standards under the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and local water/sewer authorities. Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management, Gwinnett County, and Cobb County Water System maintain active FOG programs with interceptor requirements, maintenance schedules, and mandatory service log submission. Facilities causing sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) due to FOG may face significant fines under Georgia's Clean Water Act framework.
