FOG Compliance in Alabama

Alabama food service establishments are regulated under the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and local municipal pretreatment programs. Grease traps and interceptors must be sized, installed, and maintained per local sewer authority requirements. Jefferson County, Mobile, and Huntsville have active FOG programs requiring cleaning manifests and pumping frequency documentation. Operators must retain service records for a minimum of three years and make them available upon inspection request.
