About
The Green Box provides waste cooking oil collection and pickup for restaurants, convenience stores, and commercial food businesses across San Antonio, Austin, and the Texas Hill Country. Founded in 2008 by Greg Taylor and Randy Bro — who bring over 30 years of combined experience serving Texas convenience stores — the family-operated business pays customers on-site by check at the time of each oil pickup and carries no contract requirement. Custom tanks are fabricated to client specifications, and service runs seven days a week from early morning. The Green Box operates as part of Alamo City Services (T&B Investments) and emphasizes direct personal contact with no automated phone systems.

Regulatory Context
FOG Compliance in Texas
Texas food service operators must comply with FOG pretreatment regulations under the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and local sewer utilities. Dallas Water Utilities, Houston Public Works, San Antonio Water System (SAWS), and Austin Water maintain robust FOG Control Programs. Requirements typically include grease interceptor installation sized to local standards, pumping every 30–90 days, use of TCEQ-registered waste haulers, electronic manifest submission in many jurisdictions, and three-year record retention. Texas's large food service industry and warm climate create elevated FOG risk, making compliance programs especially active.More Contractors in Texas
