Snapshot captured August 16, 2026 at 18:30 UTC. This page describes selected records in Grease Trap Locator's directory database. It does not count verified companies, independently confirmed licence status, unique businesses, active service capacity, or independently confirmed coverage.
What the snapshot counted
The capture selected 1,914 GeoDirectory detail-table rows marked publish: 1,749 stored with country “United States” and 165 stored with country “Canada.” The query did not independently join each row back to the public WordPress post, verify the business, deduplicate companies, confirm credentials, or apply a controlled grease-service category test.
For that reason, this article uses listing records, not providers or companies, as its unit. One business can have multiple location records, and a record can be outdated, incomplete, duplicated, broadly categorized, or missing a city.

A “city-region group” is one distinct nonblank combination of the stored city and region fields. It is not a legally defined market and does not prove that a business serves the whole city. Eight selected U.S. rows had no city value and were excluded from the U.S. group count.

These bins describe database-row concentration only. They do not show service quality, customer choice, response capacity, competition, licensing, or market need.
Important data-quality limitations
- Only 170 of the 1,914 selected rows had a nonblank licence-number field. A nonblank field was not independently validated.
- There were 1,889 distinct normalized titles, leaving 25 title rows above the first occurrence. Similar or different titles can still represent the same business.
- There were 1,780 distinct nonblank phone values, leaving 126 phone rows above the first occurrence. Shared phones are only a duplication signal.
- 439 selected rows lacked the limited grease-service signals used in the audit check. This is not a definitive relevance test because service fields are inconsistent.
- The capture is a dated database snapshot. Records can be added, edited, unpublished, or corrected after the capture.
How to use this snapshot
Use it to understand the shape and limits of GTL's stored directory data at one moment. Do not use it to claim that a location has a certain number of licensed, verified, independent, or available contractors. Visitors should confirm service area, current qualifications, availability, and job-specific authorization directly.

Frequently asked questions
Does one listing record equal one company?
No. A company can have more than one location record, and duplicate or related records can use different titles, addresses, or phone values.
Does “publish” mean GTL verified the business?
No. In this snapshot, “publish” is a database status. It does not prove identity, licensing, insurance, service quality, availability, or current operations.
Why call them city-region groups instead of markets?
The count groups stored city and region text. It does not define economic markets, service territories, municipal boundaries, or customer access.
Can these figures be compared with an earlier article version?
Only if the earlier raw data, query, exclusions, and capture time were retained. The July figures previously shown on this page cannot be reproduced from retained evidence.
